THE PROJECT

BRINGING BRASS BAND ENERGY AND RAP INTO THE SAME MIX

No Te Calles is a track by Gata Brass Band featuring Merzenaria, released on Paraíso. Flutu handled the recording, mix and master.
The brass needed to keep its physical weight and live character while the rap vocal stayed present and contemporary. The mix had to create separation without sanding down the energy that makes the band work.
OUR AUDIO WORK
The production focused on keeping the brass physical and dynamic while giving the rap vocal enough space to lead when it needed to.
01

RECORDING

The recording captured the dynamics and weight of the brass ensemble and vocals without flattening the natural movement of the performance.
02

MIXING

The mix created space between dense brass and rap vocals while preserving the impact and rough edges that give the track its energy.
03

MASTERING

Mastering finalized the balance and level for release as part of the band’s 2023 album Paraíso.
