For Mark of the Deep, Mad Mimic sought to create an engaging experience where voice-over would play a central role in the game. They needed a partner who could not only handle the voice recordings but also optimize the production pipeline and propose innovative solutions.
Flutu took on the challenge of overseeing the entire voice production in both English and Portuguese. From pre-production to final implementation, we ensured that over 3,000 voice lines were delivered on time, perfectly aligned with the game’s narrative and design.
We started by iterating with AI-generated voices during the pre-production phase. This allowed the team to adjust dialogue, test prompts, and integrate voice samples into the game’s decision tree. Speechless played a key role in managing these voice iterations, allowing the technical team to implement and validate dialogue much faster.
Once the AI voices were fine-tuned, we moved to the final recordings, bringing 20 professional actors into the studio to voice the characters in both English and Portuguese.
As the team progressed, our role expanded to managing voice-over in both languages. For the Portuguese version, Mad Mimic selected notable influencers and actors to voice the characters.
In the English version, we worked with a smaller cast, using advanced audio processing techniques to create unique variations for characters voiced by the same actor.
With the help of AI and Speechless, the voice production process was efficient and scalable. We managed 3,000 voice lines smoothly in each two languages, ensuring that all dialogues fit into the narrative structure and decision trees of the game. The integration of Speechless allowed us to calculate recording time, cut unnecessary lines, and plan the production with precision.
The feedback from influencers and actors who voiced the characters has been overwhelmingly positive, and Mark of the Deep is eagerly awaited by fans and has already garnered significant interest from demo players.
By collaborating closely with Mad Mimic and Speechless, we were able to streamline the voice-over process and deliver high-quality audio on time, significantly reducing the costs.
This partnership showcased how AI can complement traditional voice over productions, enhancing the process without replacing the human element. Mark of the Deep is now set to captivate audiences with its rich storytelling and immersive audio in both English and Portuguese.
